Who says working for friends is a bad idea? In this case it turned out to be a great experience – design and development of Bendigo Partners' identity, brand and online presence. Working for financial "Masters of the Universe" was nothing new for me, so I knew the score – convey seriousness and security yet still stand out from the monotone landscape of other Private Equity companies. It's easy to do if you trust your designer, don’t give him lame art direction and let him run free!
The corporate ID was built around the idea of a Möbius Strip, interconnected, infinite and one section supports the other. This idea has been used in many other places, but I tried to put a unique spin on it by breaking into the 3 colors to represent the core disciplines of Bendigo. The mark, coupled with a contemporary and friendly typeface and warm primary colors really helped sell it. The rest just fell into place. Clean, simple and elegant.
